The Good Life - Kickstarter Support
The Challenge
The Good Life, a video game by renown creator SWERY and a development team led by Yukio Futatsugi, the creator of Panzer Dragoon and Phantom Dust, had experienced a previously failed campaign on Fig.co. They needed to relaunch the crowdfunding campaign through Kickstarter, but had to account for the fact that the FIG campaign had very large contributors at funding levels not supported by Kickstarter. The studio had to ensure they would convince way more people to back the game in order to meet their funding goals.

The solution
To relaunch the campaign successfully, the studio trusted ICO to be in charge of the campaign, leading goals and strategy to achieve them.
ICO delivered a campaign structure that leveraged the studio and the game's unique strengths, as well as the reputation of the creators and their track record. In addition, ICO worked on communicating effectively with the campaign backers, drafting all the studios' communication and advising on tactical and strategic decisions with a very hands-on approach. The Results


Thanks to the new strategy and communication plan, the relaunched crowdfunding campaign for The Good Life was successful, attracting more than 12,000 backers and 25% over the budget it was raising.
Additionally, they managed the merchandise production process, communicated effectively with their backers, and ensured smooth pledge management. The team was happy with the results, and backers were satisfied with the updates and rewards they received. The Good Life became a much-anticipated game in the gaming community, and the studio's successful campaign helped them build a strong and dedicated fan base.
